Nuclear Output and Services

Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia (MEAG POWER), is accepting bids for the purchase of nuclear output and services from MEAG POWER’s ownership share of Vogtle Units 1 and 2 beginning January 1, 2014 through the life of the facility.
MEAG POWER is issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) for this output and services with a target transaction size of 100 MW. Non-binding bids are due by 5:00 p.m. EPT on Friday, March 29, 2013. MEAG anticipates that respondents selected for further negotiations will be contacted by April 19, 2013.
MEAG POWER of Atlanta, Georgia, is a public body corporate and politic, a public corporation and instrumentality of the State of Georgia, which provides wholesale generation and transmission service to its forty-nine Participant members in the State. MEAG POWER provides this service through ownership of approximately 2100 MWs of generation resources, purchases of approximately 600 MWs of capacity and energy, and ownership of transmission facilities. MEAG POWER is a Member/Owner of The Energy Authority (TEA) which provides electric and natural gas wholesale market services for MEAG POWER. MEAG POWER has direct transmission interconnections with the Georgia Integrated Transmission System (GAITS).
